Ironic

Many of you know that Chase comes home today. Well of course Murphy's Law would step in and sabotage our reunion! Chase's flight was delayed from Ukraine and so he missed his connecting flight in JFK. He then waited in a 2 hour line to be placed on a new flight which will land in Utah 4 hours later than expected. He arrives after 11 pm so it's going to be a long night, especially since I'm running on little sleep due to the various projects I had to finish late last night for Chase's arrival.

I guess I should be grateful that he at least was placed on a flight that leaves tonight. I should have known when I was listening to Pres. Uchtdorf's talk entitled "Continue in Patience" last night at 11:30 pm that I would have my patience tried soon. How ironic.

What can you do when your husband's away?

There is many a thing you can do...

You can watch a clutch game of soccer between Real Salt Lake and LA Galaxy! Final score: 1-0...In your face Galaxy! Thank you to the Checketts for allowing us to watch it from box seats!
You can cheer on your colleague's little boy with him and his wife as their son's dream comes true! (He got to walk out onto the field for the National Anthem holding hands with Borchers, a Real defender!) You can watch Pres. Uchtdorf in club seats watching his fußball.
You can fill the void in your heart by watching David Cook in concert after the awesome Real soccer game! (Don't worry Chase, David will never take your place!)
Side Note: So I have to say I felt like a teenage girl with a crush last night! As David Cook was leaving through the tunnel after singing the National Anthem I yelled out his name just above him (we were on a landing just above the tunnel) and he looked up, made eye contact with me, and smirked. Here's a picture just before we met eyes! Ha ha! Or you can decide to go crazy and totally change your hairdo! As you can see from these pictures from last night I have recently changed my "look". Thanks Trish for making this happen!

Memorial Day & Birthday with the Beatles

So this past Memorial Day and my birthday (on June 1st if you didn't know) were spent selling Beatles merchandise at this big Beatles festival in Louisville, KY. With school out and Chase not around to help, I was recruited to help sell with the family this year. It was quite the experience. I've never seen my legs/ankles so swollen from standing on my feet from 10 am to usually 11 pm. Initially I wasn't diggin it so much, but I have to say by the end I really enjoyed myself. Who knows, maybe Chase and I will both go help out at the festival being held in DC over Labor Day.
So here's the set up of some of the shirts we had for sale.

Here's of view of the whole row of merchandise we were selling. We had a prime location right next to the stage! Here's just a glimpse of the crowds of Beatles' fans that come.

While in Louisville my brother and his family stopped by on their way to Cincinnati so I could see my new little nephew Eli. So fun to play with family! Can't wait until our Galveston reunion at the end of the summer.

While together Sean lost a tooth!
With the whole fam...minus my brother Kurt who took the pic
